Indian grooms have truly come a long way. From simple silk kurta to anarkali for men, Indian grooms are now experimenting with their wedding attire. Be it vibrant prints or experimental cuts, the ethnic range for Indian grooms is now more avant-garde, bold, quirky and just so stylish. We chatted with Ravi Gupta, Head Designer at Gargee Designers, who highlighted five trends for grooms that will dominate this season.
FloralsBe it digital prints or hand-painted floral motifs, this season floral prints are big! One can also invest in floral footwear this season. They can work well with a bandhgala, short kurta and straight pants.

Asymmetrical cuts When it comes to kurta, one can invest in asymmetrical cuts in long and short lengths. Ravi suggests that shorter men can go for short kurta and taller men can go for long kurtas, to complement the height. Take your style up a notch, by layering it with a jacket, churidar pants and leather juttis.

Shirt kurtasFor day-time functions and festivities, opt for open-shirt kurtas with contrasting textures. Pair it with formal shoes to look all dapper.

Embroidery For those who love going traditional, should invest in chikankari work, metal thread embroidery and colourful thread work. Bright and bold colours work well for evening functions. Be it a kurta or a jacket, you can balance out the look with solid bottoms and ethnic footwear.

Abstract artIf you find asymmetrical fit discomforting, invest in abstract kurtas with geometric detailing for a sharp look. They look good in solid hues and you can spruce up the look with a statement brooch. You can pair them with formal shoes or even with traditional kolhapuris for a fresh look this wedding season.
