Gucci is celebrating its centennial anniversary this year. And to mark the 100th anniversary Gucci and Balenciaga teamed up to come up with a larger-than-life show and a short film by Floria Sigismondi. The collection saw a lot of trends that would be making it big in the coming days. From the equestrian vibe that the show had to models sauntering the ramp wearing sequined dresses and a sequined heart clutch that would be the next big thing this season, there were a lot of trends that one could take note of during the show.

"In this sense, Gucci becomes for me a hacking lab, made of incursions and metamorphoses. An alchemical factory of contaminations where everything connects to anything. A place where thefts and explosive reactions happen: a
permanent generator of sparkles and unpredictable desires. On this occasion, then, I want to honour my filial affection betraying the legacy that was handed down to me. Because the promise of a never-ending birth is only renewed through an evolving capacity," says Gucci's creative director Alessandro Michele.

"Crossing this threshold, I have plundered the nonconformist rigour of Demna Gvasalia and the sexual tension of Tom Ford; I have lingered over the anthropological implications of what shines, working on the brightness of fabrics; I have celebrated the equestrian world of Gucci transfiguring it into a fetish cosmogony; I have sublimated Marilyn Monroe’s silhouette and old Hollywood’s glamour; I sabotaged the discreet charm of the bourgeoisie and the codes of men’s tailoring," he adds.

1. Logomania

Logos are already having a moment in fashion with big brands coming up with jackets and coats with all-over logos. And this Gucci meets Balenciaga logo seen on blazers, jackets, dresses and coats proved a point that brand logos are not going to anywhere even in the post-pandemic world.

2. Sequins

There was the right amount of glimmer and shine in these sequined dresses, oversized jackets, and coats.

3. Crop tops for men

Arm warmer-styled crop tops were seen on the male models who posed with faux fur.
4. Powersuits

Relaxed-fit suits in various bright shades were styled with sequined tops, cardigans, and shirts.
5. Power shoulders

Power shoulder coats made quite a statement during the show.
