All about bracelets
A bracelet used to be just a humble article of jewellery worn around the wrist, until modern women took it upon themselves to make it significant. And, now most modern Indian women or womenfolk across the world are often seen only sporting a bracelet. The ones who don't like flaunting jewellery can also be seen endorsing a bracelet, as they are subtle and perhaps the most elegant piece of jewellery ever.
Bracelets have always been important for women, but today they have become significant as they are easy to wear and seek little maintenance. If you love bracelets and would want know what's trending in the world of this charming ornament, then here's a look at what's new this season.
According to Shrishti Dhar, a Delhi based jewellery designer, no number of new trends can replace the classic bangle bracelets. "They are rigid and perfect for the modern working woman. And, these days most women are opting for platinum or rose gold bangles for their subtle beauty and aesthetics. But, I still get most orders for gold bracelets which feature an inflexible loop- the classic design," says Dhar.

Rose gold bracelets are hot
Rose gold has made it to the list of top favourites in the jewellery industry for its interesting fusion of traditional yellow gold and modern appeal of white gold. And, it's not a surprise to see women queuing up to invest in this metal.
Amit feels that rose gold bracelets are hot this season because they are light, airy and yet so trendy. "One can pair the bracelet with a metal watch and you are good to go," he adds
Also, these bracelets have a lush tone that’s warmer than white gold; it’s way flirtier and youthful than yellow gold, and it's somehow luxe and understated at the same time. In essence, rose gold is poised to become the new classic for its versatility, wearability, and beauty. Need more convincing of this pink-tinged goodness?

Decorative charms make a comeback
Decorative gold charm bracelets were big in the 90s, but they are back with a bang now thanks to big players in the jewellery industry like Tanishq and Malabar Gold and Diamonds who have showcased new bracelet collections which will remind you of the bracelets your mother wore during her youth. These chunky bracelets made in gold feature everything from a heart-shaped locket, a unicorn, a seahorse, crystals, musical symbols to religious symbols and they are huge this season.
Aakrosh Sharma, Head - Merchandise at CaratLane, is of the opinion that since the average Indian woman has started following the 'less is more' concept, she is now shifting from traditional designs to modern designs. "More and more women are now choosing those charms which help them express their individuality and personality. While the designs are simple enough for everyday styling, they stand out because of their intricacies," adds Sharma.

Link bracelets are eye-catching
Link bracelets are the ones which are made by connecting or linking various or similar components and usually feature gemstones or plain metal. Basis the spring runways of all international fashion shows this year, we noticed that chain bracelets are big this year. Luxury labels like Bottega Veneta and Zimmermann showcased chain accessories this season and they were all chic and statement-making pieces.

Time to invest in a Tennis bracelet
Though it derives its name from tennis star Chris Evert dropping her bracelet at the 1987 US Open, tennis bracelets have become one of the most sought after pieces of jewellery for women. They usually feature precious gemstones, along with diamonds and that's why they are considered to be expensive and classy. What makes them really special is the fact that they are loosely fitted so that they can move freely on one's wrist, but not fall off of it.
