Spice-up your wardrobe like a Bollywood celeb

<p>Fashion keeps on changing every season, but that doesn't mean you break your bank to keep pace with it. All you need are some smart tips to put together a few separates already present in your closet, and stay ahead in your fashion game. (Image: BCCL)<br></p><p>We got in touch with celebrity stylist Archana Walawalkar (Co-Founder& Creative Director, StyleCracker) who shared some amazing tricks on how you can reinvent your wardrobe, without heading for a shopping spree and look like a Bollywood celeb!</p>

Head-to-toe monotone

Wearing one shade from head to toe will instantly make you stand apart in the crowd and up your fashion game in no time. Start with picking the colour that complements your skin tone. If you are new to this trend, start with neutral colours like nude and grey as they are pretty easier to pull off. Play with textures to make it more interesting, and don't forget to match your shoes to complete the look. (Image: Instagram)

Mixing prints

<p>The most efficient way to use your prints is by mix matching them smartly. Pick one print that will be dominant and the other one as an accent. You can also experiment with the same print in different sizes or different prints in the same colour. (Image: Instagram/Alia Bhatt)<br></p><p>If you’re going for the same pattern, try inversing the colours. For example, wear a white skirt with a black print and pair it with a black blouse with a white print.</p>

Cropped/Shredded hemline

This is the one of the coolest DIY you can try. Give a completely new look to your old pair of denims by cropping the hemline. You can distress the edges with a blade to give it a quirky take. Or simply cut an inch or two off the front hemline, leaving the back longer and flaunt an edgy asymmetrical look. (Image: Instagram/DeepikaPadukone)

Open back shirt

Here’s yet another way to wear your favourite classic shirt with a quirky twist. Cut it wide open and flaunt your sexy back. Yes, you read it right. Lay your shirt facing downwards, cut across in the middle till your upper back, finish the ends and ta-da, you have your five minute DIY shirt ready to be worn in a completely new way.

Slip dress over a tee

Remember the slip dress over a tee outfit that Jennifer Aniston rocked in Friends? Yes, that trend has made a huge comeback, and it’s the perfect way to wear your slip dresses without a strapless bra! Just wear a simple t-shirt under your slip dress with your favourite sneakers for an effortless day look, and a jumpsuit over a ruffled shirt for an evening outfit. Mismatched earrings

This trend is creating waves across the globe. Lost a single earring? Fret not! Just pair it up with another one – perhaps one with a different length, colour, shape or size. Say hello to the new diva in you! (Image: Instagram)

Cinch your waist with an obi belt

Obi belts are the way to accentuate your waist this season. These wide belts will draw attention to your curves and make your figure look shapelier. Ladies, dig your wardrobe and flaunt them with your flowy dresses and over-sized shirts. Tip: Use wider obi belts if you have a tall frame, and vice versa for those who are petite.
