Indulging in sugar loaded sweets is a big no for people with high blood sugar. With the festive season around the corner, it is impossible to tame the temptation of indulging in delightful desi sweets. But, if you too have been ditching your love for dainty sweets to control your blood sugar levels, then we have got some simple Diabetes friendly sweets, which you can make in just a few minutes with some simple ingredients at home. So, don your chef’s hat and enjoy the festive season.

​Apple Rabri


If you are fond of creamy Rabri, then try this simple yet healthy Rabri at home. Made with low-fat milk, loads of apples and dry fruits, boil and reduce the milk, add apples, cardamom powder and dry fruits.

​Samvat Rice Phirni


To make this delicious recipe, soak and coarsely grind samvat rice. In the meantime, boil milk and reduce it to half, once the milk turns creamy. Just add in the rice, saffron strands along with some crushed jaggery. You can also use stevia to keep it sugar-free.

​Anjeer Basundi


This traditional milk delicacy can be made in just a few minutes. Just boil some milk with cardamom powder, reduce it to half and add soaked figs(anjeer), cook the mixture till it turns thick and serve with loads of nuts.

​Khajur Barfi

To make a healthy barfi, just boil low-fat milk, reduce it to half, add fresh dates paste along with peanuts and crushed almonds. Once the mixture turns thick like a dough, pour it on a greased plate and cut them and refrigerate. Enjoy!

If you love the crunchy texture of pistachios, then try this thick creamy kheer with pitted dates and pistachios. Just boil some milk, add fresh dates and pistachios and enjoy it chilled!

To make this delicious halwa, take a pan, add some ghee, dry roast nuts, coconut and keep aside. Next, add in the smooth apricot paste to the halwa, add the coconut, nuts, saffron and cardamom powder. Enjoy!

This traditional sweet can be made healthy just by tweaking the ingredients. Roast some grated coconut, dry nuts and mix them with some fresh cream and stevia. Roll some quick laddoos, refrigerate and enjoy!

Fond of laddoos? Then give your palate a healthy twist with these ladoos made with antioxidant rich cranberries, handful of almonds, cashews along with some grated coconut and peanut butter. Make small ladoos and enjoy.

To make a quick laddoo, just take a blender and add almonds, cashews, pistachios, raisins, peanuts and soaked pitted dates. Make a mixture, grease your palms and make a quick ladoo and enjoy.
