They are rich in calcium, fiber, carbs, vitamins and minerals that play a crucial role in the holistic development of the human body. But did you know that there are certain parts of fruits that are not good for human consumption? Celebrity nutritionist Shweta Shah recently discussed this subject on her Instagram post and highlighted parts of common fruits one should avoid and why. Take a look.

Watermelon rind


As per Shweta, one should avoid the thick white rind.
Why: As per her post, it's too thick and cooling and can cause bloating and loose motions for sensitive guts.

Pineapple



She suggests avoiding the tough centre core.
Why: She explains that the middle core is very fibrous and can irritate your throat and gut lining, causing acidity or mouth ulcers.

She also suggests avoiding the tough centre core of jackfruit.
Why: It's extremely dense and rubbery, making it tough on digestion and causes discomfort.

Why: As per her post, the top contains oxidized fibre that can irritate the gut and cause mild constipation in some people, hence one should avoid it.
