This is why bay leaves are super-important and must not be ignored

Tej Patta or Bay leaves, are one of the popular spices that are often added to dishes like Biryani, Pulao, and non-vegetarian foods to add a unique aroma. But, do you know, there are several other uses of Tej Patta like shooing away insects from the house and to clear the negativity of the house? Shoo away the insects

If you are very worried about the insects infesting the grains in your house, then bay leaves are your saviour. These leaves have a strong aroma and their fragrance irritates these insects. Here’s a simple remedy that can shoo them insects away like they were never there. To keep your flour safe, tie a muslin cloth containing bay leaves and cloves, add this cloth in the flour box. By doing this, one can get rid of both white and black insects. It can also be used to protect rice, pulses, legumes, and any kind of flour.

Bay leaves for aromatherapy

Derived from the bay laurel tree, these leaves contains a chemical called linalool, which when burnt emits a captivating aroma that has therapeutic benefits. In aromatherapy, bay leaf oil is renowned for its calming properties, often used to alleviate stress, anxiety, and mental fatigue. The soothing scent of bay leaves is believed to promote relaxation, enhance mental clarity, and induce a sense of tranquility.

Helps remove negativity from house

Bay leaf has always been considered one of the most aromatic Indian spices and when combined with cloves, it can prove to be very helpful. What you do is to put two-four cloves, a little camphor and two bay leaves in an earthen lamp or any vessel and burn them. Doing this, will remove the negativity from your house.

Protect your house from insects & mosquitos

If there are too many mosquitoes and insects in your house, you can also use bay leaves to get rid of them. All you have to do is burn some onion peels along with bay leaves in the room. The smell that comes from doing this, will keep them away from your house. This home remedy emits a very strong odour, and if it becomes unbearable then you can use a mask while doing this remedy.

Use them for gardening

If there are some plants in the garden of your house which are being terrorized by ants, then bury some bay leaves near the soil. The ants will gradually start disappearing due to the strong aroma.
