Removes splinters

Dealing with a splinter is quite painful and can lead to infection if it is not removed timely. A splinter can be a sliver of wood or glass that penetrates the skin and because of its small size, it is difficult to remove it. In order to get rid of a splinter, cut garlic into half and bandage the clove on the affected area with a bandage. The antibacterial properties of garlic will naturally remove the splinter. Garlic sweet dish

Believe it or not, Garlic Kheer is actually a delectable dessert whose origin dates back to the Mughals. It was called 'benami' because the ingredient in the kheer (garlic) was a secret. This Kheer recipe is prepared using 1 litre of milk, 150 grams of garlic, 125 ml white vinegar, 80 grams of sugar, 2 strands of saffron and 2 green cardamoms.

Step 1- Mince the garlic cloves and soak in vinegar for 20 minutes.

Step 2- After 20 minutes wash it with water and add to a pot along with 1 cup of water. You have to now boil it three times. Every time you boil it, discard the old water and fill the vessel with fresh water. This is to get rid of strong flavours of garlic and vinegar. Once done, drain the water and collect garlic in a bowl.

Step 3- In a pot, boil milk with saffron, sugar and garlic till it reduces to half.

Step 4- Add powdered cardamom seeds to the kheer and serve cold or hot, as per taste. (image credits- istock)
