Winters are here and it's time for some drool-worthy indulgence! No wonder, with the onset of winters, our body and soul craves to celebrate the season with some good food, which is warm, satiating and easy to make. And that's when we think of our favourite comfort foods, which are not always healthy. As the temperature drops, the freezing winter season gives an opportunity to look forward to big soup bowls, warm casseroles and warm sweets. The comfort of these warm delights on a chilly day is simply unmatchable, but the challenge is to make them delicious as well as healthy so that the indulgence does not take a toll over health. When the sun shines in winter mornings, all we can think of is a nice plate of our favourite dishes and hot beverages to truly rejoice the season in its best spirit. Although when winter kicks in, the willingness to give up the comfort of a warm blanket to prepare an exotic spread substantially reduces. Well, we believe that the enticing aroma of good food will make you leave your blankets too. So, to make your winter lunch experience interesting, we have shared a few easy and healthy meal ideas that you can prepare at home that too without putting in many efforts.

Moong Dal Shorba

A true winter delight, this gluten-free soup makes for a nutritious meal in the cold weather. Prepared by straining pureed moong dal, and then bringing it to a boil. Moong Dal Shorba gets ready in just 10 minutes and is also added with the goodness of lemon juice, green chilli, onion, ginger and turmeric.

Broccoli and Spinach Soup

With all the right nutrients coming together to provide the best of taste, broccoli and spinach soup is a must-have in the winter season. This soup will keep you warm from the inside and can be prepared in 5 minutes. Just blend broccoli florets and spinach leaves with vegetable broth, spices, onions and potatoes, and your soup is ready to be relished.

Chicken Manchow Soup

This warm winter special soup is loaded with the goodness of lip-smacking vegetables and hearty chicken. All you need to do to is prepare this soup using chicken stock and chicken pieces in an array of vegetables like spring onions, bamboo shoots, carrot, cabbage, capsicum, mushroom and onions. Mooli Ke Patto Ki Sabzi

Radish leaves contain essential minerals and vitamins, dietary fibres, increases immunity, and it is best for diabetic people. Prepared using radish leaves, Mooli Ke Patto Ki Sabzi is a healthy recipe that will taste great for a winter lunch. All you need to do is stir fry radish leaves with readily available spices and serve the dish hot in 15 minutes.

Methi Parantha

Winter season is special for leafy vegetables and this delicious paratha is made of the healthy, green methi leaves. All you need to prepare this dish is prepare a dough of fenugreek leaves, coriander leaves, wheat flour, carom seeds and a few other spices. Roll the dough in forms of parathas and roast on a tava. Serve hot with any beverage of your choice.
