Dhaba-Style Amritsari Paneer Bhurji

Dhaba-Style Amritsari Paneer Bhurji is a rustic yet creamy delight, which offers a very velvety feel to the palate. It is a good blend of freshly crumbled paneer, spices, and a hint of besan, which binds all the ingredients well and make for a delectable treat. Scroll down to read the detailed recipe.

Ingredients


250–300 g fresh paneer, 2 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp oil, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 2 medium onions, 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste, 2 green chillies, 2 tbsp besan, 2 medium tomatoes, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1½ tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, ½ tsp garam masala, salt to taste, 1 tsp crushed kasuri methi, ½ tsp grated nutmeg, 2–3 tbsp fresh cream, and 2 tbsp coriander leaves

Step 1


Grate or crumble the paneer and set it aside.

Now, heat oil and butter in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.

Add chopped onions and sauté on medium-high heat till golden brown. Also, add ginger-garlic paste and green chillies. Cook until the raw smell disappears.

Now, add tomatoes, besan, turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook on medium heat until the masala turns thick.

Add crumbled paneer, mix well and cook for 3-6 minutes and then add kasuri methi, garam masala, nutmeg, and fresh cream. Mix well.

Garnish with coriander leaves and lemon juice. Serve hot with kulcha or parathe.
