What does Ayurveda say

In Ayurveda, pomegranate peel also known as "Danta-madana" or "Dadimakanda" in Sanskrit is described as a powerful astringent herb with bitter and astringent properties. As per Ayurveda experts, traditionally it was used internally to relieve diarrhea, dysentery, sore throat, and cough by gargling with powdered peel and water and is known for its strong antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties.

According to studies, pomegranate peel extract can decrease the viability of certain cancer cells, such as ovarian cancer cells, through modulating steroid hormone secretion and inhibiting tumor cell proliferation. It also exhibits anti-proliferative effects against prostate and skin cancers.
