3 exercises that can help bring down uric acid levels in 3 months

Elevated blood uric acid levels in the body, known medically as Hyperuricemia, is a common condition that can lead to gout, which results in painful joint inflammation and swelling. The body develops severe joint inflammation when uric acid crystals form inside the joints. Apart from diet and medication, regular exercise serves as a natural treatment for uric acid reduction. Exercise, in varying capacities, improves kidney function and boosts metabolic speed, which results in uric acid elimination from the body. Not only that, exercise also helps in reducing weight, that further reduces the body's uric acid production. Here are 3 exercises that, if done consistently, can help bring down uric acid in 3 months...

2/12

Walking

People with elevated uric acid levels and gout symptoms, can safely choose walking as their primary exercise choice. Walking as a low-impact exercise, enhances blood circulation and joint flexibility because it functions as a weight-bearing activity. The regular practice of walking stimulates kidney function, which enables the body to remove excess uric acid through urine. Walking as an exercise enables people to control their weight effectively, because obesity leads to elevated uric acid production and increased joint pressure. People of all ages including older adults, can perform walking as an exercise because it requires no equipment and can be done anywhere. The recommended duration for brisk walking should be at least 30 minutes per day, according to experts. Studies show that regular walking practice leads to lower blood uric acid amounts, and fewer gout attacks in individuals.

Swimming

The combination of swimming with water aerobics and additional water exercises, creates an optimal solution to lower uric acid levels while providing gentle care for gout, and arthritis-affected joints. The weightless properties of water establish a supportive environment, which reduces the pressure on joints that have gout or arthritis. The exercise allows complete painless movement while strengthening muscles, and improving cardiovascular health. Swimming regularly improves both kidney function and metabolic rate, which are key to reducing uric acid. Not only that, water-based exercises help reduce both inflammation and stiffness, which is common in gout patients. Swimming creates a peaceful environment which reduces joint pressure, making it suitable for people who experience recurring flare-ups. Swimming three to four times per week for thirty to forty-five minutes, will help reduce uric acid levels during a two to three month period.

Yoga

Yoga functions as a gentle exercise system which combines stretching methods with breathing techniques, and mindfulness training. Through yoga practice, patients learn to control their stress levels because stress causes gout attacks while it improves both joint mobility and flexibility. The Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana) and Spinal Twist (Ardha Matsyendrasana) improve blood flow and kidney function, which leads to detoxification and uric acid removal. Yoga practice leads to relaxation, which helps reduce the inflammation that results in uric acid buildup. The gentle nature of yoga exercises makes it suitable for individuals who experience joint pain or stiffness. Regular yoga practice of 20-30 minutes daily or performing asanas three to four times weekly, will help reduce uric acid levels and improve your body mobility during a three-month period.See More: How to safely lower Uric Acid in 3 months

Diet changes

The natural reduction of uric acid levels through exercise, requires people to make dietary changes for maximum effectiveness. People should avoid eating red meat, organ meats, shellfish and oily fish, because these foods increase uric acid production. People need to choose foods with low purine content which includes eggs, low-fat dairy products, legumes and plant-based protein sources. The body can lower uric acid levels and reduce inflammation through the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables. Drinking enough water throughout the day helps, along with reducing intake of sugary drinks, processed foods and alcohol consumption. A combination of proper nutrition with physical exercise, will help people naturally control their uric acid levels in 3 months.

Regular monitoring, consistency in lifestyle changes, and consulting a healthcare provider can further enhance results and prevent potential complications like gout or kidney issues.

Also, avoid alcohol consumption, as it can negatively impact the kidney.
