What is being mindful after all? To put it simply, it is all about focusing your energies on the present moment. It could be something as simple as climbing a tree, catching a butterfly or a cycle race. More forms of exercise are starting to incorporate mindfulness into their methods. Qigong is arguably the original stress reduction tool because it dates back to a time before Lao Tzu, Patanjali, or even The Buddha. It is a Chinese practice using movement, affirmations, breathwork, visualisations, and meditation to improve the flow of “qi” and restore internal harmony. Qigong exercise, similar to Tai Chi, consists of a series of breath practices with body movement and meditation to attain deep focus and a relaxed state.

Yoga Nidra is a multidimensional system that includes stretching and strengthening poses, breathing exercises, and ethical and meditation practices. It uses body, breath, and senses to connect with the universe. Yoga Nidra, also known as dynamic sleep, prompts the body to relax deeply while the mind remains inwardly alert. Studies have shown that Yoga Nidra helps in anxiety and depression as well as hormone regulation.
