You will be surprised to know the answer

A majority of people, especially men, hit the gym with the sole purpose of getting well-toned and chiseled abs. After all, having six-pack abs is often considered as a universal sign of good personality and excellent fitness level. Achieving a well-toned and stronger core requires a huge amount of hard work and dedication. When trying to attain a great set of abs most of the people turn to crunches, but do you really think that this is the best and the only way to get six-pack abs.

2/4

Crunches and six-pack abs

No, only performing crunches is not going to get you a toned core. Well-sculpted abs are determined by two factors- the amount of time you exercise and the type of diet you follow. Only performing exercise and binge eating unhealthy food won't help.

Secondly, crunches might be one of the exercises that can help you get a strong core. So, if you are only performing this exercise then you are making a huge mistake.

If you aim to get well-carved abs then you must work on your abs from different angles. You can do it either by including variations of crunches or other exercises that engage the maximum muscles of the mid-section of your body.

3/4

Other effective core exercises

For stronger core and well-defined abs, you should perform other compound movements like Squats, Deadlifts, Russian Twists, Bicycle twist, Plank and Side plank.

4/4

The bottom line

While performing any exercises always remember that your correct form or posture is very crucial. Performing any exercise incorrectly can lead to muscle soreness and you will not be able to reap any health benefits.
