Uric acid buildup in the body can lead to painful conditions like gout and joint inflammation

A well-balanced diet and regular physical activity play a crucial role in maintaining optimal uric acid levels. Yoga, an ancient practice, offers natural relief by improving metabolism, enhancing kidney function, and reducing inflammation. Practicing specific yoga asanas can help detoxify the body, boost circulation, and promote the excretion of excess uric acid.

Signs you have high levels of uric acid

High uric acid levels can lead to gout and other health issues. Common signs include severe joint pain, especially in the big toe, ankles, or knees. You may also experience swelling, redness, and tenderness in affected joints. Other symptoms include stiffness, difficulty moving, and persistent discomfort. In some cases, high uric acid can cause kidney stones, leading to severe lower back pain, blood in urine, and frequent urination. Some people may feel fatigue, nausea, or develop skin lumps (tophi). If left untreated, high uric acid can damage joints and kidneys. A blood test can confirm uric acid levels.

13/13

Complications associated with uric acid

High uric acid levels can lead to gout, a painful form of arthritis that causes sudden joint inflammation, especially in the big toe. It may also result in kidney stones, leading to severe pain and urinary issues. Chronic hyperuricemia can contribute to kidney disease by damaging kidney function over time. High uric acid is also linked to metabolic disorders like diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. In some cases, uric acid crystals can form deposits (tophi) under the skin, causing lumps around joints. Maintaining a balanced diet, staying hydrated, and avoiding purine-rich foods can help prevent complications.
