3 symptoms of High Blood Pressure that often go unnoticed
Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is quite common nowadays, which affects millions of individuals worldwide. What makes it so dangerous is the fact that it has the tendency to develop without any obvious or immediate symptoms. Most individuals can be unaware of their elevated blood pressure for years, which adds internal damage to advance quietly in the body. Symptoms, once manifested, can also be confused with other normal day-to-day problems such as stress or weakness.
In severe instances, where blood pressure becomes critically elevated, more pronounced symptoms become evident including the like of severe headaches, difficulty in breathing, chest discomfort, irregular heart rhythm, or a feeling of thumping in the chest, neck, or ears. Dizziness, nosebleed, and changes in vision might also be present. These intense signs, however, usually manifest only when hypertension has reached a critical level, for instance, in the event of a hypertensive crisis.
As these sharp symptoms are likely to appear very late, early detection via routine checkup is required. Majority of the patients are not aware of their high blood pressure until it leads to serious issues like strokes, heart attacks, etc. There is a need to be cautious not only for obvious signs but also for subtle symptoms that may easily escape detection.
These are three of the warning signs of high blood pressure that often go unrecognized but which may provide early indication. Let's take a look...
Waking up with a headache is commonly associated with stress or bad sleep, but may be an elusive indicator of high blood pressure. These headaches are typically with dull pressure and at the back of the head. The skull pressure gets increased when blood pressure spikes during sleep or early morning, causing discomfort upon waking. If morning headaches occur on a regular basis, it's time to get your blood pressure checked.
Fatigue or inability to focus is not a very serious condition for anyone, but these symptoms can alert that the brain and heart are not receiving enough oxygenated blood due to elevated blood pressure. Slowly but surely, this can affect intellectual sharpness and physical vigor. People become unable to focus or feel oddly tired even after a sound night's sleep. This sign should not be ignored.
High blood pressure has very light or minimal symptoms which are very easy to miss. Early detection of hypertension requires regular health check-ups, especially for patients having high risk factors. By being vigilant for symptoms like changes in vision, fatigue and headaches you can notice hypertension early, before it becomes complicated. Keeping blood pressure in check can prevent many chronic diseases including cardiovascular issues.

Blurry or shifting vision
Vision change is also a symptom that goes unseen. Increased blood pressure hardens the tiny blood vessels in the eyes, a state of hypertensive retinopathy. Blurry vision, double vision, or transient vision loss ensue. Most people attribute it to screen fatigue or aging eyes, but if these changes happen without an obvious reason, blood pressure should be taken into consideration.Tiredness or mental clouding
