5 very early signs of Gallbladder problems one should not ignore

The gallbladder is a small digestive organ, which stores bile to break down fats during digestion. Gallbladder problems create painful symptoms that patients need to seek medical help for right away. The detection of problems at an early stage helps prevent major health complications from developing. Here are 5 warning signs Doctors want patients to recognise, which need urgent medical response.

2/6

Upper right abdominal pain

The first and most typical indicator of gallbladder issues presents as pain or discomfort, which develops in the upper right section of your abdomen near your rib cage. The abdominal pain exists at different levels of intensity, and shows irregular patterns of occurrence that can extend from several minutes to multiple hours. The discomfort may extend from the abdominal area to reach the right shoulder blade, and upper back region. The gallbladder experiences strain after consuming heavy, fatty or spicy foods, which leads to abdominal pain. The presence of sharp, persistent or worsening abdominal pain suggests gallstones, gallbladder inflammation or other gallbladder problems. Doctors use this symptom as their primary indicator, to diagnose gallbladder disease.

3/6

Frequent nausea and vomiting

Gallbladder problems become more likely when someone experiences regular nausea and vomiting, after consuming fatty foods. The gallbladder plays a role in fat digestion, so its malfunction creates digestive problems that result in nausea and stomach discomfort. People who have ongoing gallbladder problems, commonly experience vomiting, together with their ongoing abdominal pain. The symptom affects both nutritional intake, and body fluid levels. A person should seek medical evaluation from their healthcare provider when nausea and vomiting persist, without apparent reasons.

4/6

Fever and chills

The combination of abdominal pain with fever and chills, indicates a severe gallbladder condition known as cholecystitis which needs immediate medical intervention. The condition requires immediate medical intervention, because it represents a more dangerous condition than gallstones alone. Untreated gallbladder infections spread rapidly to create dangerous health complications. The body temperature rises to either a low or high level, while chills create a state of severe illness in the person. Medical evaluation needs to start right away when these symptoms occur, because they indicate potential complications.

5/6

Changes in stool and urine color

The gallbladder contains bile which gives stools their brown color. The flow of bile becomes abnormal when gallstones or blockages occur in the bile ducts, which results in unusual colors of stool and urine. The improper flow of bile from the gallbladder to intestines produces pale or clay-colored stools, and dark yellow or brown urine. A bile duct obstruction requires immediate medical diagnosis, and treatment because of these symptoms. The coloration of waste products changes when bile pigments are present, so doctors use these color changes to diagnose gallbladder problems.

6/6

Jaundice

Jaundice represents an early warning sign which indicates severe gallbladder complications. A blocked bile duct causes bile to accumulate in the bloodstream, which results in yellow discoloration of the skin and eye whites. The yellow discoloration serves as an early warning sign that indicates problems exist with the gallbladder or bile ducts. The blockage of bile flow by gallstones, infections or tumors leads to jaundice in patients. Medical professionals need to treat this condition right away because it indicates a blockage that threatens to harm the liver unless treated immediately.
