Make it a part of your ‘dinacharya’ to start and end your day by splashing cold water on your closed eyes. This simple ritual not only stimulates blood circulation but also helps reduce puffiness and refreshes tired eyes. For added relief, soak cotton pads in pure rose water and place them over your eyes for a few minutes. Naturally cooling and cleansing, rose water soothes irritation and rejuvenates the delicate skin around the eyes.

According to Dr. Suja Isaac, co-founder, executive director at Soukya International Holistic Health Centre, “A nutrient-rich diet is one of the strongest defenses against vision decline. Focus on foods packed with vitamin A, like carrots, spinach, and sweet potatoes, and load up on antioxidants found in amla, leafy greens, and turmeric. Omega-3 sources like flaxseeds and walnuts are excellent for maintaining eye moisture, while a small spoonful of pure cow ghee, nourishes ocular tissues from within. Aim for a colorful and balanced plate of fruits like mango, papaya, and guava, and vegetables such as butternut squash, broccoli, and kale to cover all your bases.”

Nature offers powerful support for eye health. Amalaki (Indian Gooseberry) is rich in vitamin C and known for its rejuvenating properties. Herbs like Brahmi and Bhringraj are well-regarded for supporting cognitive and visual functions. Triphala, a blend of three fruits, is known for detoxification and eye vitality. A mild Triphala drink made with warm water or honey is a simple way to incorporate it into your daily routine.
