Middle age is a crucial time for overall health

Most women find themselves stuck in the middle of chaos in their middle age. Family, career, social life, responsibilities and other obligations end up leaving little or no time for self-care. Even though all of these factors exist right from their twenties, but middle age is crucial for other reasons. In terms of health, middle age is the time from which health starts declining and extra attention needs to be paid to every aspect of life including mental and emotional well-being. With a new generation of women stepping up, it is important to highlight the trends that the previous generations have been doing wrong so that their adverse consequences can be avoided. Here are five most commonly made mistakes by women in their middle age that ultimately lead to long-term consequences.

Not having enough self-care days

You take care of so much and so many people. While doing all your duties and fulfilling all your responsibilities, you might find it hard to make time for yourself. However, this isn’t healthy and will ultimately drain you physically and emotionally, leaving out no energy for any other tasks. An hour of meditation, journaling, traveling or whatever it is that helps you relax is imperative for you to recharge. Ensure that you do so.

Ignoring heart health

The heart is one of the most vital organs that needs to be regularly checked upon, especially as one ages. Indicators of heart health include blood pressure, blood glucose levels, body mass index and cholesterol should regularly be monitored and any anomalies shouldn’t be ignored. Full diagnosis for any changes in trends is recommended.

Insufficient Vitamin B-12

As we age, the amount of acid produced in our stomach naturally decreases due to which Vitamin B12 can become a concern. In addition to calcium and Vitamin D, vitamin B12 is also required in good amounts for the body to be healthy and function properly. Adding foods rich in the Vitamin such as eggs, meat, dairy etc. is a must.

Hair rules

Hair rules are a construct. The length of your hair is not and should not be determined by your age. Thinning and deterioration of quality is inevitable as one ages and it is a fact that has to be accepted. Go for styles and colors that appeal to you and flaunt your mane!

Not embracing aging

You are in your middle age, which itself is suggestive of the fact that you are mid-way through life. Not admitting or accepting that aging is a natural process that is bound to happen to you is another mistake that will deprive you of mental peace and a lot of your money. Embrace the fact that you are getting older for it comes with multiple benefits such as a strong sense of self, experience and a heightened sense of confidence.
