Undertaking great endurance and perseverance, no nut or fap November where men give up busting a nut via masturbation or sexual intercourse, for the month of November. While the term was coined in the year 2010, it came into popularity in the later years given the click-of-a-button social media culture -- along with no nut or fap centric communities that follow the practice religiously.

Well, there’s one thing for sure, masturbation cannot give you hairy palms or shrink your penis like many claim. Neither will it cause any physical weakness or mental illness. The no-fap community may take pride in abstaining from it while others may find it hilarious. But the ones who take part in it suggest of miraculous sexual effects on them. Others count it as a placebo and look at it with suspicion.

A no nut or fap November instils confidence, an energetic appeal and a sense of clarity among men. While this is what is the belief behind the act of no nut/fap November, there is no scientific study or evidence to back the notion up. Dr Chirag Bhandari, Founder, Institute of Andrology and Sexual Health, says, “As a medical practitioner and sexual health practitioner, I do not re-endorse these kind of movements, however, there is no harm in men trying no fap for the whole month of November. Considering ejaculation needs to be controlled, men can still have an erection while abstaining from viewing pornography content. It depends on individual choice, they can choose to be a part of this movement or not. I suggest men can masturbate from time to time, as and when the need arises, maintaining a balanced frequency is key.”

​Can no fap movement help?

Not indulging in self pleasure is subjective. However, it may be of great help to someone struggling with a porn addiction. Participating in no fap movement may also control sexual problems caused by excessive masturbation. To back this up, many sexual health experts consider masturbating daily as a cause of fatigue in men.
