Rs 35 crore Israeli ‘time machine’ scam: UP couple cons people with age-reversal fantasy
In a bid to appear younger and ‘age like a fine wine’, people often resort to all sorts of therapies, diets and anti-ageing regimens. This often leads to insecurities around health and appearance. Prying upon such self-doubts, a couple in Kanpur, Rajeev Dubey and his wife Rashmi, have been accused of scamming over two dozen couples by promising an Israel-made time machine that could reverse aging, defrauding them of nearly Rs. 35 crore.
The incident came to light after the local authorities were alerted after three victims filed an FIR, and officials have notified airports to prevent the couple from escaping, according to a TOI report. The couple operated a therapy center called Revival World in Kidwai Nagar. They claimed that Kanpur’s high pollution levels were causing faster aging and that their oxygen therapy sessions could counter these effects, making people look younger. Each session was priced at Rs 90,000, with discounts offered for clients who brought in referrals. ACP Anjali Vishwakarma confirmed this, stating, “The couple also turned this into a pyramid scheme by offering discounts for referrals.”
The investigation continues, and further details about the fraudulent activities are expected to surface. Meanwhile, it is our own responsibility to seek valid ways to stay young in terms of appearance and fitness.
The loss of collagen and elastin, two key proteins that give your skin its youthful suppleness and resilience, causes your skin to seem drab, thin, and wrinkled. Years of sun exposure add up, resulting in black spots all over. Gravity also takes its toll by constantly tugging on your thinning skin, resulting in sagging eyes and eyebrows. If you have a family history of prematurely wrinkled skin and hyperpigmentation, you are likely to notice these symptoms early. Furthermore, bad eating habits and a variety of environmental and lifestyle factors influence how we appear and feel.
Your skin is a live organ that needs the right nutrition to grow new cells. A poor diet heavy in sugar and carbohydrates, as well as excessive alcohol and caffeine, can deprive you of necessary hydration and trigger premature aging. Similarly, smoking not only causes inside harm, but it also causes premature aging of your skin through oxidative stress, which occurs when your system contains more free radicals than antioxidants. The outcome is sagging, wrinkled, and spotty skin. Poor sleep hygiene, as well as excessive mental and emotional stress, causes your skin to age more quickly.
Frequent exercise enhances mood, skin and bone health, sleep quality, and reduces stress. After all, the sweat from your workout ends up washing the toxins off your skin. Additionally, the release of endorphins and a reduction in cortisol following exercise contribute to a postponement of skin aging. Furthermore, ensure that you follow a set sleep schedule that includes going to bed and waking up early. Seven to nine hours of solid sleep everyday can help you conquer the day’s stress and give your skin adequate recovery time to heal itself.
Antioxidants are essential for combating free radicals that damage the skin and preventing the indications of aging. Food is the most natural and convenient way to receive the antioxidants you need. Broccoli, spinach, carrots, asparagus, avocados, beetroot, radish, lettuce, sweet potatoes, squash, pumpkin, collard greens, berries, apples, pecans, red grapes, and plums are all good sources of antioxidants. Consume adequate water.
To keep your face hydrated, use a facial moisturizer in the morning or right before bed. Moisturizers oils trap moisture and keep it from evaporating. Look for a lotion that contains retinoids, vitamin C, vitamin A, or green tea extracts. Wrinkles may look worse in people with dry skin.
Protecting your face from UV radiation is one of the most basic things you can do. Limit your exposure to direct sunlight during the day when it is at its brightest. Wear a hat and sunscreen to protect your forehead, nose, and eyes. Even in the winter, use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.Make sure the sunscreen is broad-spectrum, protecting against both UVA and UVB radiation. Remember to reapply sunscreen frequently, especially if there is excessive perspiration. Consider using skincare products with built-in SPF protection. If you must spend time in the sun, dress in loose, lightweight, long-sleeved shirts and long slacks or skirts.
Washing your face is the most fundamental and necessary step in any routine. Wash twice a day, in the morning and at night, to avoid clogged pores, dullness, and acne. Make sure to remove your makeup using a makeup remover and wash your face with a suitable cleanser. Keep the water lukewarm and gently pat your face dry with a soft towel to avoid irritation and loss of natural oils. Toners should be used after cleansing and before applying anything else. Choose components like alpha and beta hydroxy acids, rose water, green tea, and vitamins E and C.
