Do you often feel dizzy?

Has this ever happened to you that you are doing an important piece of work and suddenly you start feeling dizzy and forgetful? For a while, your head starts spinning and you go blank? This is known as 'brain fog', which can come floating anywhere and at anytime.

'Brain fog' is a medical condition, which can lead to confusion, loss of focus, attention issue, poor concentration level and can even wreck your productivity level. If you have ever experienced it, you might know that brain fog is worst of all and one of the major causes of this haziness is hormone imbalance. When the hormones in your body are in balance, you can concentrate in a better way, but when they are even slightly off, it can disrupt your entire body function. So, if you often go blank then get yourself checked for these 3 hormone levels:

2/4

Thyroid

Low thyroid levels can even hamper your brain functioning. If your butterfly-shaped thyroid organ does not produce enough hormones then it can lead to forgetfulness and trouble in thinking clearly. Due to the low level of thyroid level, the brain starts to process things slowly and your brain's reflex action reduces. Imbalance in the thyroid level can even lead to cognitive impairment, weight gain, weakness, depression, irritability, and intolerance to cold.

3/4

Cortisol

Everyone feels sad and stressed once in a while, but if it is a day-to-day affair then this might be the reason why you are feeling cloudy. Too much stress produces cortisol hormones, which leads to brain fog. Your cortisol level should be well balanced as both high and low levels of stress hormones can affect your overall health. Disruption in stress hormones can even lead to anxiety, depression, and memory problems. Moreover, it can harm the mitochondria (the powerhouse of the cell), which makes you feel weak and low in energy.

4/4

Estrogen and progestin

Brain fogging is quite common in women around age 40. This is due to the fluctuation in estrogen and progestin levels. Fluctuation in both these hormones can make it difficult for you to focus on your work. The hormonal imbalance can even lead to other issues like weight gain, mood swings, night sweats, and low sex drive.
