Vitamin D deficiency: The silent epidemic and how to fix it
What if stronger bones, better immunity, and more energy were as simple as just getting sunlight exposure? also referred to as the "sunshine vitamin," vitamin D is essential to our well-being, but a staggering 70% of Indians lack it. From frail bones to exhaustion, the impact is disastrous, but the remedy is within our reach. With well-measured amounts of sunlight, diet, and supplementation, we can regain control of our health and bring this silent epidemic to an end.

Vitamin D is necessary for the effective absorption of phosphorus and calcium in relation to bone hardening. It plays a role in the health of the body, further, It can be derived from some foods. It aids in the absorption of calcium, thereby playing a role in immune function, healthy bones and teeth, and healthy musculature. In the absence of or minimal consumption, it prevails the syndrome of disorders, such as brittle bones, osteoporosis, cancer, heart disease, and diabetes, with an enormously heightened risk of falling and breaking. As most individuals are not consuming enough food or sunlight, supplementation or consumption of fortified food is suggested in order to possess enough amounts.

Exposure of legs, arms, and face for approximately 15-30 minutes depending on how hard your skin is can seriously boost the vitamin D levels. It is optimum if done prior to 10 a.m. or in the afternoon, past 3 p.m., when the sun rays are less strong and less healthy for one.".
● Lifestyle Adjustments: Come up with a balance of lifestyle elements like quality sleep, stress, and daily outdoor exercise to promote vitamin D. Yoga, jogging, and walking help in sun exposure and maintain both bodily and mental well-being.
● Dietary Intake: Foods rich in vitamin D should be incorporated into the diet. Salmon and mackerel are examples of fatty fish, vitamin-enriched milk products, egg yolks, and mushrooms, which are excellent sources. ● Supplements: Take vitamin D supplements, particularly in winter months or if you don't have much sun exposure. Your age, health, and sun exposure determine the correct amount. Most experts recommend adults 600-800 IU daily. It is very important to discuss with a doctor about the best for you.
