It is important to know the symptoms of heart attack

Heart attack is life threatening. There are several indications to it, however people are not aware of the signs when it actually happens. First of all, the very thought that heart attack claims life makes people even more nervous and paralyses their active mind. Also this fact panics those present with the patient.

The right thing to do is to understand that heart attack can be prevented if one knows the symptoms. There are several signs which occur months before the heart attack. Only if one is careful about their health and always observes their body carefully can they prevent this life risky disease.

So, what is that early sign people should know?

The early sign is excessive sweating

2/7

Excessive sweating is not always due to heat or exercise

We often confuse excessive sweating with heat or exercise.

Older women also confuse it with menopause.

But the shocking fact is excessive sweating is one of the major symptoms of heart issues.

Sweating is associated with heart issues. When there is excessive sweating without any other explanation doctors first check the heart. There is a very close association between profuse sweating and heart issues.

3/7

What does it look like?

Sudden sweating without any reason is the first clue that something is wrong with the way your heart is functioning.

Breaking out into a sweat for no apparent reason "is one thing that you can't explain away," unlike shortness of breath, nausea, fatigue, and chest pain, which can be chalked up to the flu, a bad night's sleep, a spicy meal, or any number of other things, explains Catherine J. Ryan, an assistant professor at the College of Nursing at the University of Illinois, Chicago, who conducted a study on this.

When India's most popular playback singer KK died after a concert in Kolkata, fans and followers of him pointed that he was sweating profusely on stage. While partly it can be due to the fact that AC was not working in that place, but it could also have been due to a heart attack he got hours later.

4/7

Excessive sweating is a neglected sign of heart diseases

Several studies have shown that chest pain, which is often considered one of the visible signs of heart attack, courtesy movies and TV shows, is actually seen in only a few cases. There are several signs of heart attack and the visible signs greatly vary from person to person.

A person can also experience chest pain, or shortness of breath before a heart attack.

5/7

How is sweating related to heart issues?

Heavy sweating happens due to reduced cardiac activity or ability. When the heart is not capable of functioning properly or when it slows down the body has to put extra pressure to ease the blood flow. This is when the person sweats.

Sweating is a potential indicator of heart attack and health experts have always warned people to take note of this and take medical help at the earliest.

6/7

The other signs of heart attack

One can also experience either one or more than one of the following signs during or before heart attack:

chest pain

pain in the arm

pain in jaw

pain in the legs

abdominal pain or indigestion

nausea

feeling sick

feeling choked

swollen ankles

extreme fatigue

irregular heartbeat

Important points to know

It is very important to take care of your health. Only you can know what is happening in your body. If you notice any changes or abnormalities please seek medical help. Do not self prescribe yourself medicines.
