If you want to lose weight, stay away from THIS ONE DRINK

The biggest struggle about being on a weight loss journey is that of avoiding the fizz. Yes, the fizzy beverages that taste so good with a meal or while binge watching our favourite series. But did you know that by consuming these beverages, you are ingesting empty calories and heaps of sugar, unknowingly.

2/5

The danger

THE DANGER: So, what is that one beverage that you must stay away from at any cost? Well, it is that simple looking soda sitting on the shelves.

3/5

Calorie intake

CALORIE INTAKE: So when you go out to watch a movie, and can't resist buying popcorn and the 'soda', remember, it is the one absolute worst thing you can do to yourself. According to data, a can of regular soda carries up to 200 calories but if you buy fountain soda in a big cup, it goes up to 400 calories.

4/5

Sugar intake

SUGAR INTAKE: Not only calories, you also end up having dozens of sugar, almost equivalent to 10 spoons of sugar. According to dietary guidelines, having more than 6 teaspoons per day is unhealthy. And what's worse? Soda doesn't fill up your tummy so you end up feeling hungry shortly after and often pair it up with something, thereby doubling your calorie intake.

5/5

Health risks

HEALTH RISKS: Such sweetened beverages are also linked with the risk of diabetes, obesity as well as heart disease. If you are among those who opt for diet sodas, you need to know that diet sodas are also linked to the same risks, along with an increased craving for sugar.
