Late night eating leads to weight gain!

Whether it is a short meal or munching on a small snack, late night eating has adverse effects on our body. From disturbing the body’s natural process, to having discomfort while falling asleep, midnight snacking may have many such repercussions. In some cases, a person might feel annoyed as the hormones get interrupted by the calories ingested during the odd hours. Some more harmful effects are as listed here:
2/6

Extra calories

The later you dine, the more will be the calories you consume. As after the late night meals, there are lesser chances of any physical work and mostly, people tend to sleep just after a meal. Result: More calories that the body is unable to process!
3/6

Less sleep

Again, if you are sleeping late, you will not have enough sleep to relax your mind and body. Hence, eat early to get a sound sleep.
4/6

Slow metabolism

Eating late at night and inadequate sleep also affects a person’s metabolism. When your metabolism slows down, it means that you are inviting weight gain!
5/6

Causes heartburn and acid reflux

After every meal, our stomach requires enough time for the bowel movement. But immediately after having food if you lie down, acid from the stomach can leak upwards into the esophagus causing severe heartburn.
6/6

Digestion problems

No matter what you are eating late at night, the odd hour eating will adversely affect your digestive system and ultimately cause other health problems. So before you rip off that bag of chips late at night, beware!
