These tiny seeds are nutrient dense

Chia seeds are the powerhouse of nutrients. These small seeds, which swell up when put in water, hold more nutrients and are therefore ideal for weight management.

These tiny black seeds contain lots of fibres and calories. 30 grams of chia seeds contain 5 grams of protein, 10 grams of fiber and 138 calories. These seeds are also a rich source of omega 3 fatty acid, phosphorus, magnesium, and calcium.

These are flavorless; they seep in the flavour of the food item they mix with. This is another added advantage of having chia seeds in your diet. People who have restricted taste choice can always have foods that have no flavor.

​Chia pudding

To make chia pudding, soak the seeds in water. Add milk after the seeds have been soaked properly. If you need a thicker consistency, then add more chia seeds. To make it more interesting add flavors like vanilla or anything of your choice. Decorate it with chopped nuts. Eat it in the morning or as a dessert post-meal.

​Homemade energy bars with chia seeds

You can make energy bars at home with lots of chia seeds in them. Take almonds, walnut, sesame seeds, chia seeds, pistachios, pumpkin seeds, grated coconut, honey, cardamom, oats in a bowl.

Blend pre-soaked dates without any water. Slow roast all the above ingredients without cardamom and honey.

Cook the blended dates on slow flame till it thickens, add the roasted ingredients, honey and cardamom to the date paste. Turn off the flame and transfer the mixture to a greasy plate. Wait till it cools down. Cut it into bars and store it in an airtight container.

Have you ever thought of adding chia seeds to your regular soup? It may sound weird, but chia seeds can be the healthiest substitute for flour or any thickening agent that you use in soups.

In order to thicken the soup, soak some chia seeds and add it to the soup. It will not only add an extra element to the soup it will also bring it into the desired consistency.

Give a twist to your regular pancakes. Add these crunchy, tiny seeds to your pancake batter. Always remember to use pre-soaked chia seeds to the pancake batter. Chia seeds have a tendency to soak water which explains why they double up in size once soaked in water.

Pre-soaked chia seeds help the seeds to get mixed with batter easily.
