Chia seeds can help with weight loss

When we talk of superfoods, it can be the tiniest things. For instance, chia seeds are one of the most nutritious and healthiest foods to add to your diet. The gel-like substance, while may seem revolting, is extremely beneficial for your health. From your heart to your brain to boosting your energy levels, chia seeds have several benefits to offer. The tiny superfood contains antioxidants, minerals, fibre, and omega-3 fatty acids, which can be incorporated with different other foods.

How chia seeds help in weight loss?

Chia seeds are known for its fibre-rich content, which makes the superfood extremely filling. This is therefore said to curb appetite and promote weight loss. Furthermore, studies have suggested that the consumption of chia seeds can help reduce visceral adipose tissues, also known as belly fat.

The best part about chia seeds is that it can be added to almost anything. There are many ways you can consume it. That said, here are some chia seeds recipes for weight loss.

Chia pudding

In a bowl, add milk, yogurt, chia seeds, maple syrup and salt. Whisk it all together and let the chia seeds soak for 30 minutes. Cover and refrigerate overnight. The next day, your chia pudding should be thick and creamy. Your pudding is ready to eat. You can layer it up with some fresh fruits.

Fruit and nut salad with chia seeds

Add coconut milk, chia seeds and honey in a bowl. Whisk together to compine and let it rest for 2 hours. Then, chop all the fruits into small, cube-like pieces. Chop the nuts in pieces too and add in a bowl and mix. Pour the dressing on the salad and toss gently. Mix well together and it's ready to feast on.

Chia seed oatmeal

In a pot, add the oats, chia seeds, cinnamon and salt and stir together to combine. Add almond milk and stir gently on medium flame. Bring the mixture to a boil and reduce the heat to low. Let the oats simmer and soften. Add in the honey and top it up with some fruits and nuts. Your chia seed oatmeal is ready to eat.

Chia seed detox water

In a bowl, add chia seeds and water. Then, add mint leaves, lemon juice, and honey. Let it rest for 20 to 30 minutes. Mix all the ingredients together. You will see a gel-like liquid by the end. Your detox water is ready to drink.
