Weights act as a source of resistance that makes the workout more effective

Even though there are several kinds of exercise routines and work out regimes that are especially curated, the effectiveness of each and every one of them remains dubitable until results are clearly visible. More importantly, no matter how carefully curated one’s workout regime is, it won’t yield results until each and every movement and exercise is done properly. One’s form, stance, movement, repetitions, rest period, pre-workout routine and post workout routine play an integral part in determining the effectiveness of the workout. Squats are considered to be one of the finest movements that help shape the lower body, which is considered to be a problem area for most people, especially women. Weighted squats are even more effective because of the resistance provided by weights. In order to gain muscle mass and lose weight from squats, it is imperative to practice them properly. Here are all the ways in which you can practice squats for optimum results.

Single-leg squat

Also known as the pistol squat, this one is an advanced exercise that helps the lower body immensely. In addition to strengthening muscles and aiding weight loss, this is a great exercise for balance as well. In order to avoid any injuries, ensure that you master the pose before you add weights.

Front rack squats

The front rack squats are effective not just for the lower body but also the upper half of the body as they work the delts or the front of one’s shoulders. The core is also involved in the front rack squats and because of their ability to engage larger muscle groups, they’re extremely effective for muscle building and weight loss.

Landmine squats

You must be aware of the trending barbell squats, which have gained popularity for their effectiveness on the lower body and the core. However, these squats put a lot of pressure on the joints. Landmine squats solve this problem and provide the required benefits of barbell squats. You can practice them with weights and see results in a short time.

Suitcase squats

The suitcase squats live up to their name as they are done in a similar way in which one holds a bag or a suitcase. Since resistance is involved, these squats work the biceps, triceps and forearms in addition to the glutes, quads and core. Remember that the weights shouldn’t touch the thighs so that the form is correct.
