The turning point

Due to my busy schedule I was unable to make time for myself, let alone my fitness. However, due to COVID-19, I was allowed to work from home, which helped me give time to myself. And since I was also diagnosed with PCOD, I had not option but to keep going.

3/7

Diet followed

My breakfast: Poha/Upma/Idli/Besan ka Chila

My lunch: 2 Multigrain Roti, 1 bowl Dal, Salad and any 1 vegetable cooked in less oil

My dinner: 1 bowl Soup and salad

Pre-workout meal: 4-5 Almonds soaked overnight with green tea.

Post- workout meal: 1 fruit seasonal(AVOID PACKED FOOD/SNACKS, SUGAR AND OIL)

I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days): I used to cook by myself and try to make healthy recipes seeing social media.

Low-calorie recipes I swear by: Chana Chaat

4/7

Workout regime

I indulged in a 30 minutes workout everyday which included 5 mins warm up, followed by High knees, Jumping Jacks, Crunches, Squat (3 sets each of 20 reps) or 40 mins brisk walk.

5/7

Fitness secrets I unveiled

Consistency is the only key. There is no shortcut to weight loss. So don't fall for any products/any advice from a person that promises quick weight loss.

How do I stay motivated?: Once I started my weightloss journey, I felt light and confident about myself and that kept me motivated. Also, I was diagnosed with PCOD, so in order to get rid of the condition, I had no option left but to keep going.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus?: I always reminded myself why I started this journey!

6/7

What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?

People judge and comment on your weight and body and that’s the most difficult part about being overweight.

What was the lowest point for you?: After losing 7 kgs my weight was stuck and I stopped losing weight even after too much effort. But I kept going!

What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line?: After my weight loss journey, I realized all shapes are beautiful. So no matter how I look I will still love myself.

7/7

What are the lifestyle changes you made?

I went for daily walks and did yoga, substituted my Masala Chai with Green tea. And yes I did have junk food at times but in limited quantities.

Lessons learnt from weight loss: You can achieve anything and everything in your life if you work hard, be consistent and have hope.
