Kriti Sonali, 32, weighed as high as 100 kilos during her pregnancy. “I gained some 25 kilos during my pregnancy and experienced bad postpartum depression,” she shares with Etimes Lifestyle. Being overweight affected her health and self-confidence.

“I was trying to shed my post-pregnancy weight. On top of that, I got affected by COVID in April-May 2021. It made me really conscious that now I need to pay attention to improve my health. I came across this beautiful fitness community called Reshape Nation via Facebook. Got on a call with my coach, understood the things, planned to get started, and it was probably the best decision of my life,” Kriti shares.

My breakfast: Salad, smoothie, nuts, eggs

My dinner: Soup/good amount of veggies or protein, any as normally cooked in an Indian kitchen along with plant-based protein shake.
Pre-workout meal: Black coffee
Post- workout meal: Nothing specific

Kriti reveals that most of her weight loss happened due to maintaining her diet. Still, she went to the gym “as my schedule allowed me then. Gym was for strength training, not weight loss.”

Fitness secrets


Eat right and at the right time, Kriti shares. It is important to focus on improving your health instead of “ just weight loss or weight gain. Not all fat people are unhealthy at the same time not all lean people are fit!”



How do you stay motivated?


“The amazing results and the changes I saw in the form of better health from within, kept me going,” Kriti shares. As for not getting distracted from her diet plan, Kriti shares that she keeps her “diet interesting and my plate full and colorful always.”



“As a mom of a toddler I feel proud each day that I am setting a great example for her each day. This keeps me going,” she signs off.
