The turning point

I was always on a healthier side even before marriage. When I conceived, I was already 75 kilos and gained 20 more kgs during my pregnancy.

After a year of delivery, reality sank in when at a party somebody told me that I could now exchange outfits with my mother in law. This comment dawned on me and I decided that I had to lose some weight. However, I never thought that I would reach a point where fitness would become my passion.

Diet followed

Early morning: 1 glass of lukewarm water with 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar.

Pre workout meal: 60gms banana or 1 medium size apple and 1 scoop whey protein.

Post Workout: I usually had lunch in my post workout meal. 1 whole egg and 3 egg whites with

chicken breast and brown rice and some veggies.

Evening Snack: 1 glass of coconut water and some soaked almonds.

Dinner: 100gms chicken breast with 1 chapati and green vegetables.

Cheat Meals : I usually indulge in cheat meals once in 15 days. I never had a sweet tooth so my options were always either burger, pizza or anything Chinese.

4/7

Workout regime

Initially, I walked 45 mins in the morning. Later I joined the gym and started doing 1 hour of strength training and on alternative days some CrossFit workout.

5/7

How do I stay motivated?

It’s the results that pepped me up. It feels great when you start noticing changes happening in your body. Compliments from people make you more motivated to achieve better results. Weight loss gave me immense pleasure when I saw myself dropping in size from XXXL to size S.

6/7

What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?

When you are overweight you lose confidence and may get exposed to depression.

What was the lowest point for you?: Being a hypothyroid patient, many people believe that losing weight with this condition will not be easy.

What shape do you see yourself in 10 years?: I want to be fit and healthy.

7/7

What are the lifestyle changes you made?

- Drink plenty of water

- Do exercise 5 times in a week

- Say no to junk food

Lessons learnt from weight loss: If I can do it, then anybody can. Weight loss journey is a very intense journey. You really need to be focused and have that urge to pull on even when you see no results. Determination and consistency are the only ways to achieve your goals because there is always a breaking point in this journey which you and only you can overcome.
