Here’s how this man lost a whopping 41kgs

While pursuing engineering, Anand Bele struggled with drastic weight gain. Due to his busy life, he became accustomed to an unhealthy lifestyle, which added to his woes and also made it difficult for him to perform daily activities. His friends started bullying and body shaming him for his appearance, which took a toll on his confidence. However, on the advice of a trusted friend and with the support of his parents, he worked hard to get his fitness back on track. With a proper diet and the right exercises, he finally dropped 41 kilos. Here’s his weight loss journey.

The turning point

When I was studying engineering, I started to put on a lot of weight. Eating junk food and following an unhealthy lifestyle took a toll on my body and during those days, I weighed around 120 kilos.


My friends started bullying and body shaming me for the way I looked and it hurt really bad. But one day, one of my friends Pankaj advised me to lose weight and pushed me to join a gym. My parents also supported me through this difficult phase and supported me throughout. I am really grateful to them.

Diet followed

My Breakfast: I started my day with one glass of warm water+lemon juice+1tbsp honey on empty stomach.


My Lunch: 2 chapatis with dal along with a bowl of salad like cabbage and cucumber. Also, I started having apple cider vinegar after my lunch with one glass of water.


My Dinner: Salad and raw paneer along with oats which fulfill my protein and fiber requirement.


Pre-workout diet: I used to take black coffee without sugar


Post-workout diet:3 egg whites and 1 apple


(I was quite serious about my weight loss journey so i completely stopped taking sugar and oily foods. I also lowered my intake of salt and the most important thing, I have gradually increased my water intake. It helped me achieve a glowing and radiant skin.)

Workout regime

In the morning, I did an hour of weight training and 30 minutes of cardio. I indulged in core training every alternate day.


In the evening, I started jogging for 1 hour and skipping for 30 minutes, which helped me lose extra body weight and water weight.


Rest plays an important role in your fitness journey and also helps your body to recover.

How do I stay motivated?

I was extremely determined to lose weight and wanted to silence everyone who bullied me. I was consistent and disciplined about my workout. Also, my friend supported me to push my limits.


Because my parents supported and complimented me for my efforts and achievements, I was able to be in shape and reach my goals.

What is the most difficult part about being overweight?

Being overweight was a really difficult phase of my life. I had started to snore in my sleep and it became difficult for me to breathe. I started avoiding family functions and parties as I suffered from anxiety and many of them began giving me terrible advice.


I was used to being called "motu" and it really hurt me deeply. My weight and I became a part of the gossip among relatives.

What are the lifestyle changes you made?

After losing those extra kilos, I have regained my lost confidence and am happy about the shape I am in right now.

I have started to love myself and have also begun wearing clothes I want to.

Know that once you achieve your desired fitness goal, the same people who discouraged you during your worst days, will praise you when you’re at your heights.
