The turning point

Like everyone else, I always wanted to be fit and healthy. Being overweight exposed me to several taunts and embarrassing remarks, not just by my friends, but also my family. It was never easy. Then came a time when I could not even fit into my old clothes. That’s when I realised that I was unfit and decided to lose weight.

Diet followed

My breakfast: Oats and moong sprouts

My lunch: 2 rotis with dal and sabzi with lots of salad

My dinner:1 roti with dal and salad

Pre-workout meal:1 banana with black coffee

Post- workout meal: 4 egg whites

I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days): Whatever I want except for sugary food.

Low-calorie recipes I swear by: Sprouts and oats

4/7

Workout regime

I indulged in 40 minutes of running and worked out for an hour in the gym.

5/7

Fitness secrets I unveiled

Sugar is all about calories and can affect your weight and health. During my weight loss journey, I avoided sugary foods as much as you can.

How do I stay motivated?: Whenever you feel demotivated, pause and reflect. Think of the time when you were unfit, overweight and out of shape.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus?: Keep a tab of the progress you’ve made so far. This will help you stay focused.

6/7

What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?

Apart from the woes of being overweight, the taunts from my relatives and friends were the most difficult things to deal with.

What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line?: A fitter and healthier ‘me’.

7/7

What are the lifestyle changes you made?

I stopped eating junk food and started working out daily.

Lessons learnt from weight loss: Consistency is key. If you are following your diet and workout daily, nothing can stop you from achieving your desired goals.
