Goddess Laxmi is known as the goddess of wealth, fortune and prosperity. As per Hindu tradition, the goddess loves flowers as they carry deep spiritual significance. Some flowers are believed to attract divine energies. Among all deities, Goddess Lakshmi, the embodiment of abundance, is especially associated with blooms which are considered sacred. Growing these flowers in your home garden is said to invite positivity and prosperity. Whether you have a spacious garden or a small balcony, these plants can be easily grown with minimal care.

Lotus (Kamal)

Goddess Laxmi, when you see her pictures or idols, she can be seen sitting on a full bloom lotus, she also holds a lotus and that’s why lotus is her beloved flower. The flower symbolizes purity and wealth (both spiritual and financial).

Growing lotus at home looks hard at home. However, it is quite manageable. All you need is a big water container or pond for these to bloom. Lotus thrive in still water and need plenty of sunlight so make sure these conditions are met.

Marigold (Genda)

Bright, yellow, orange and absolutely cheerful, marigolds are also said to be favourite flowers of Goddess Laxmi. These are used widely in religious rituals. Their vibrant coloured flowers are associated with abundance, energy, and auspiciousness.

Growing marigolds at home is quite easy. These are among the easiest flowers to grow. All they need is well-drained soil and moderate watering. The sunlight, these need more. Keeping fresh marigold in your home temple and entrance is believed to welcome prosperity.

Jasmine (Mogra)

Jasmine is another beautiful flower with an enchanting smell. It is also dear to Goddess Lakshmi and its white petals symbolizes purity and love.
Jasmine can be grown in pots on your balcony easily. They thrive in warm climates and need complete sunlight. Regular watering is also important. The soothing aroma of jasmine is said to attract wealth and harmony into home.

Hibiscus (Gudhal)

While hibiscus is more commonly associated with Goddess Kali and Durga, certain varieties such as red and pink are offered to Goddess Lakshmi. The colourful flowers add beauty to your garden. These are also said to bring positive energy and abundance.
Hibiscus plants are also quite easy to grow. All they need is warm temperatures, sunlight and well-drained soil. Pruning occasionally is suggested.

Roses, particularly red and pink coloured, are also said to be favourite of Goddess Laxmi. These flowers symbolize love, devotion, prosperity and beauty.
Roses can be easily grown on your home balcony. Just give them enough sunlight and fertile soil. Regular pruning is important for their healthy growth. ​
