Covid-19: Steps to follow before opening any online orders

Shopping online

As we are moving towards a normal lifestyle with househelps coming to work and most of us resuming work from the office, there is one thing that is giving us extra pleasure - shopping online. Online shopping has seen a great surge in the past few days and explains that retail therapy is something we all are resorting to. But when an online delivery arrives, it also brings along chances of contamination and with the cases rising everyday, the risk is higher too. But do not worry, there are ways to deal with that and stay safe. Follow the steps below and you will reduce the chances of getting affected.
2/6

Online payment

Even though most of the online stores have consorted to no on-delivery cash payment, there could be a few websites who are still allowing you to pay through card for ‘cash on delivery’ option. We recommend NOT opt for that mode of payment. Always make an online payment to encourage ‘no-contact delivery’.
3/6

Limit contact

It is advisable to keep a stool or a bench near your entrance gate (either outside or inside, depending on the layout of your home) where delivery boys can leave the packets. This is to ensure that you limit the contact with any outside person. If you cannot leave it outside your house, keep it in a place inside your house where no one touches it immediately.
4/6

Sanitizing the packet

If it is an essential commodity and you cannot wait to open it, spray sanitizer and keep it aside untouched for at least 2 hours. This will assure that any kind of contamination is reduced and not spread on any other possible surfaces in the house.
5/6

Leave it untouched for 48 hours

For non-essential commodities, it is advisable to follow the 48-hour rule. Keep the packet untouched for 2 days in a place that is not accessible to especially kids and senior citizens. There is always a 7-day return policy that comes with every item so you have enough time to try it and return if needed.
6/6

Wash your hands

Washing hands is the new anthem we all are living by. After receiving the order and after opening it and throwing away the packet, you must wash your hands thoroughly for a minimum of 2 minutes.
