Parenting coach’s advice for parents on how to protect kids from adults with not good intentions
Parenting expert and content creator Katy shared a post on social media on how to protect kids from adults who don’t have good intentions. She shared 4 skills on how to adopt these habits.
In a video she wrote, “Every parent wants to protect their child from harm, but the truth is uncomfortable: You can’t control every adult they’ll meet, but you can shape the inner strength that keeps them safe. Most kids don’t get hurt because they are “too sensitive”. They get hurt because no one taught them how to recognize manipulation, set limits, or trust their own instincts.”
Here are 4 skills that protect children more than any rule, lecture, or consequence:
She added, “The goal isn’t to raise a child who avoids the world. It’s to raise a child who enters the world with a nervous system that knows how to protect itself. Strong kids aren’t born. They’re taught.”
