Let kids and grandparents bond!

Anyone of us who is lucky enough to grow up with their grandparents by their side can attest to this fact. Grandparents are very loving and it is just so helpful to have them around!

2/9

Appreciate your grandparents!

Not only are they kind enough and helpful to pitch in to help, babysit and take care of the young ones in need, having them around can be quite helpful in the kid's growth. Plus, they are the ones you can trust blindly!

All the time children spend with their grandparents is nothing but a gift! Not that we are saying that there is a need for children to not spend time with their grandparents, we list down seven scientific reasons why kids should hang out with their grandparents more often!

3/9

Resilience

When kids know a lot about their family history and share emotional things with their grandparents, they are in a more resilient and sharper state of mind. They also appear smarter and mature than others. This is because when they learn of their family history and difficulty, they know how to bounce back and fight their battles.

4/9

Built-in support system

When children spend a lot of time with their grandparents, they have a better grasp of dealing with any emotional or behavioural troubles and are also able to cope with any kind of trauma. A study conducted by the University of Oxford found out the same.

5/9

Less ageist

An important thing to teach kids is that everybody gets old and there is nothing scary about that! But kids don't have the smartest minds and staying close with their grandparents can solve that problem. According to a study, the kids who share a loving, helpful relationship with their grandparents are least likely to be disrespectful or ageist.

6/9

Best for the grandparents

Staying with grandparents is good for the kids but it works the other way too! In fact, grandparents who stayed in touch and took care of the kids add an average of five years to their lives and are less likely to suffer from problems of loneliness, anxiety.

7/9

Kids cut down the risk of depression

Also, when kids spend time bonding with their grandparents, they have an emotional system in place, develop a friendship with them and all of this helps them in cutting down any risk of troubled mental well-being at an early age. From getting life advice to a bonding experience, kids also grow up with a lesser depression risk as adults.

8/9

Stability

For growing kids, it is very important for them to have some kind of stability in an ever-changing environment. When kids have working parents, it can be hard for them to connect with them. Grandparents can help and fill in the gap.

9/9

Moral values

Primarily, it is the parents' job to instill good values and morals in their kids and teach them empathy and kindness but grandparents can be a bigger help in this matter. Acting as pillars of support, love and nourishment, they can teach them good stories, impart wisdom and have a good influence in the little one's life. Your child can help grow into a beautiful, respectful adult with a little help from your grandparents.
