Are you always sleep deprived?

ARE YOU ALWAYS SLEEP DEPRIVED?: In case you’re wondering why you are so sleepy all the time, do not just brush it off as a by-product of a hectic lifestyle, instead here’s what you should look out for.

An average adult has a lot more going on than just work and family to fill his time. There is this daily to-and-fro commute to work, various commitments to family and weekend meetings with friends/relatives.

While juggling all these commitments, it is easy to label this constant state of sleep-deprivation and lethargy as a result of your tight social schedule.

This is where you need to pause and reflect on your actions.

These are the 5 reasons why you are perpetually sleep-deprived and you need to CHANGE these now:

2/6

You are not drinking enough water

YOU ARE NOT DRINKING ENOUGH WATER:

Being dehydrated can make you cranky, irritable and tired. Want a simple solution? Drink a glass of water. Not drinking enough water can have a serious impact on your mood and energy levels.

Some researchers have also reported that being dehydrated may also result in shrinking of some parts of your brain.

While you are reading this, take a sip from your water bottle.

3/6

Your sleeping hours are erratic

YOUR SLEEPING HOURS ARE ERRATIC: This should not come as a surprise. Ever noticed how after a weekend you end up feeling more tired rather than refreshed? It is because of your irregular sleeping practices over the weekend that is making you feel all cranky and worked up.

It is said that generally it takes about 21 days for the body to adjust to a new habit. Start going to sleep early, on a fixed time for a minimum of 21 days straight and see how your body adapts to the same.

4/6

Anaemia

ANAEMIA: Anaemia is the lack of red blood cells, the same cells which carry oxygen from your lungs to your other body parts. Lack of these red blood cells result in anaemia which makes you feel haggard, weak and short of breath, most of the time.

Anaemia is caused by the lack of iron or vitamin deficiency.

5/6

Depression

DEPRESSION: If you are suffering from depression, lack of energy comes hand-in-hand with low motivation. Some of the changes that you can make is completely cutting off processed and refined food.

Follow a diet which helps your body to produce feel-good hormones.

6/6

You are glued to your smartphone

YOU ARE GLUED TO YOUR SMARTPHONE: We cannot stress enough on how important it is to make your bedroom a smartphone-free zone. When your eyes are exposed to light after the evening hours, it stops your body from making melatonin, a sleep-inducing hormone.
