From multiple marriages to a blended family: A look at Alina Habba’s personal life
Talk about beauty with brains, and Alina Habba might be a name that pops into your head, given the current circumstances!
Habba, who has grabbed eyeballs for her fashionable appearances and is currently serving as a counselor to the president, expressed her gratitude while writing on X (formerly, Twitter), “I am honored to serve my home state of New Jersey as Interim U.S. Attorney and I am grateful to President Trump for entrusting me with this tremendous responsibility. Just like I did during my time as President Trump’s personal attorney, I will continue to fight for truth and justice. We will end the weaponization of justice, once and for all.” She also gave herself a hurrah by echoing the key sentiment of Trump’s MAGA campaign, “Time to make New Jersey great again! LET’S ROLL!”
Who is Alina Habba?
Alina Saad Habba is an American lawyer who was a legal spokesperson for President Donald Trump, and a senior advisor for MAGA, Inc., Trump's Super PAC between 2021 and 2025.
In December 2024, Trump named Habba as his counselor to the president.
In March 2025, Trump appointed her as interim US attorney for the District of New Jersey.
Family life:
Alina Habba has two siblings, who all were born in Summit, New Jersey. Their parents were Chaldean Catholics who emigrated from Iraq to the United States in the early 1980s to escape persecution in their home country. Her father, Saad F. Habba, is a gastroenterologist. Habba has described herself as "very religious" and has identified as a Roman Catholic.
Marriage with Matthew Eyet:
Although not much is known about Alina Habba’s first marriage to Matthew Eyet, the couple stayed together from 2011 to 2019. In eight years of marriage, Alina and Matthew had two children Chloe and Luke.
Eyet, Habba’s former husband, is also a lawyer but prefers to lead a private and low-key life unlike her. Eyet specializes in corporate tax law and has a law firm named Eyet Law LLC, where Alina was a major partner - till their divorce in 2019.
Alina and Matthew share joint custody of their two children.
Marriage with Gregg Reuben:
It didn’t take long for Alina Habba to move on from her first husband, Eyet. In 2020, shortly after her divorce from Eyet, Habba married Gregg Reuben. Reuben posted photos from their big day to his blog on Medium in February 2021.
However, as per speculations, Habba started seeing Reuben while she was still married to Eyet. To celebrate the anniversary of their first date, Habba posted a giant bouquet of flowers she received from her husband to Instagram in November 2022. She was still married to her Eyet in November 2019, so her first November date with Reuben would have been November 2020, which means their wedding in early 2021 was only months later.
Reuben has a Masters from the Harvard Business School and he runs his parking management company in New York called the Centerpark.
Although Reuben has an estimated net worth between $2 million and $5 million, he along with Habba has found themselves in serious tax trouble.
As reported by InTouch in November 2023, Habba and Reuben owed more than $1 million combined in tax liens — although the bulk of that was owed by Reuben and his companies. According to the outlet, Habba had a couple of tax liens that were around $1,000. Meanwhile, Reuben owed a staggering amount to the government. He owed two large sums from 2016, nearly $500,000 from November 2020, and an additional $60,000 from April 2022. On top of what he owed personally, Reuben's LLC had liens for more than $770,000.
Although Reuben has a good relationship with Habba's ex-husband Eyet as he is also involved in co-parenting as the stepfather of the two children that they share, when Reuben and Habba were facing legal trouble with tax warrants - the couple did not seek help from Matthew Eyer who seems to be an expert in tax law.
Reuben has a son named Parker from a previous relationship, he is well-blended with Habba's two kids.
Life in Bernardsville:
Habba's life in Bernardsville, New Jersey, is far removed from the chaos of the courtroom. She often shares moments from her personal life on Instagram, from family holidays to birthday parties and festive gatherings. In 2023, she posted photos of her three children—Chloe, Luke, and Parker—enjoying summer and celebrating Christmas together, referring to them affectionately as her 'three nuggets'.
Although looking at Habba’s career and lifestyle, one might deem her as a strong, independent, *possibly* feminist woman, she clarifies that she’s far from being so. She said on "The PBD Podcast" in January 2024, "I'm not a feminist, I believe in strong women, but I want my door opened. I'm very much an ... old school woman. When I'm at home, I cook, I have a husband I respect, I know how to turn it on.”
