Most bizarre reasons for which people got divorced

While modern relationships are complex, marriages are tougher! Weddings are one of the most important events in one's life and no one gets married thinking that they would ever get divorced. But over the years, the number of divorces only seems to have increased-- be it in India or abroad. However, some reasons behind these divorces seem extremely bizarre-- making one question whether this is even true? So, here we list some of the most bizarre reasons for which people got divorce across the world:

Husband divorces wife after she loses hair

In a weird incident, a Chinese woman named Li (her surname) shared that her husband divorced her after 16 years of marriage after she lost her hair due to an illness, reported the South China Morning Post (SCMP). The woman, 36, belongs to Shangqiu in Henan province, China. In a social media post, Li shared that she was a devoted wife and mother to their child. However, two years ago, she suddenly started losing her hair and got had large patches of white and thinning hair instead. The reason: Vitiligo-- a chronic autoimmune disease, she was told by her doctor. Over time, her appearance drastically changed in just two years and she looked looked much older than her age. That's when her husband also started distancing himself-- from not accompanying or supporting her during her treatment to skipping family gatherings with her to avoid "ruining his reputation." Over time, she had no choice, but to agree to her husband's proposal for a divorce.

Wife divorced her husband for eating strawberry from her plant

Yes, you read that right! In a bizarre turn of events, a Reddit user named u/deafknox shared the petty reason for which their great aunt divorced her then husband. "My great aunt divorced her husband for irreconcilable differences after he ate a strawberry from the plant she was growing," u/deafknox shared. Well, sometimes real life is stranger than fiction, it seems.

Because the wife only cooked Maggi, every single day

A man from Karnataka's Ballari in India had once filed for divorce from his wife for cooking Maggi for him, every single day, as per several reports. Here are the details: The man complained that his wife didn't know how to cook well and so she would cook Maggi and serve him every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Over time, this became a reason for the couple's fight. So much so that the man filed for a divorce from his wife. And, eventually, the duo got a divorce from each other on the basis of mutual consent.

Woman seeks divorce because her husband "doesn't fight" with her

We truly seem to be living in a strange world it seems. At a time when couples are getting divorced over petty issues, a woman in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh, India had recently filed for a divorce from her husband within only 18 months of her marriage. The reason? The wife told the Sharia court in Sambhal that her husband loved her "too much" and would not fight with her because of which she was "fed up", according to Dainik Jagran. "Neither he [husband] ever shouted at me nor he ever disappointed me over any issue. I am feeling suffocated in such an environment... Whenever I make a mistake, he always forgives me for that. I wanted to argue with him," she complained, as per the report.

However, listening to her bizarre reason for divorce, the cleric of the Sharia court was not only baffled, but he also dismissed her plea, calling it frivolous. The woman had also approached the local panchayat for the same, but they too had refused to give a ruling on this matter!

Meanwhile, a similar incident was reported by Khaleej Times sometime back when an Arab woman had sought divorce because her husband is "too nice and weak", and never fought back with her! The couple were married for 12 years and had two children together.

Wife filed for divorce after her new husband brought his mother on their honeymoon

Imagine dreaming of a romantic Parisian honeymoon, only to have your mother-in-law crash the party. That's exactly what happened to 36-year-old Italian beautician Marianna, who filed for divorce just one month after her lavish Rome wedding, reported Mirror UK in 2012. Her husband Stefano, 39, secretly booked his mom into their five-star hotel - next door neighbor turned ultimate wedding intruder. Shocked at the airport, Marianna endured a tense Christmas getaway as a trio, her vision of newlywed bliss shattered.
Her lawyer called it "excessive emotional attachment" to mom - the final straw after ongoing tensions. Heartbreaking reminder: Boundaries matter, even in love.
