Meghan Markle shares sweet Father’s Day tribute to Prince Harry with rare family moments-- And why we are loving it
Celebrating Prince Harry as "the best" dad to their kids, Meghan Markle posted a heartfelt video of his on her social media profile this Father's Day. On June 15, the Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram, where she shared rare family clips of her husband Harry spending quality time with their two kids— Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
Set to the song 'Have It All' by Jason Mraz, the video shows Harry laughing, playing, and holding his children through the years. One adorable moment shows him chasing Archie as he rides a bike. Meghan's post read: “The best. Happy Father’s Day to our favorite guy .”
For the unversed, since rejoining social media earlier this year, Meghan has been using her personal handle @meghan to share family milestones and glimpses into their life in Montecito, California— where the couple has lived privately since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.
Both Archie and Lilibet have inherited Harry’s signature red hair, which he says comes from his late mother Princess Diana’s side. “The Spencer gene is very, very strong,” Harry had jokingly shared in a 2023 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He also shared how he once doubted if the redhead gene would pass on to his kids, given Meghan’s background, but added proudly, “Go gingers!”
While the Sussexes enjoy their private family life in California, Harry’s relationship with his father, King Charles, remains strained. Since stepping back from royal duties, Harry has faced legal battles over security in the UK. In a recent BBC interview, Harry revealed that the King has refused to discuss the issue with him. “He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff...But I still wish to reconcile," Harry had said.
