After a bitter public divorce, Dubai Princess Sheikha Mahra finds love again— Gets engaged to rapper French Montana: Their love story

Royal families across the world never fail to make it to the headline-- and now, the spotlight is on the Royal family of Dubai. Buzz is that Dubai princess Sheikha Mahra Mohammed Rashed Al Maktoum, who ended her marriage via an Instagram post in 2024, is now engaged to Moroccan-American rapper French Montana.


While speculations were rife about Dubai princess Sheikha (31) and rapper French Montana (40) dating from late 2024, the news of their engagement was confirmed by Montana's representative to TMZ recently (on Wednesday). As per reports, Montana proposed to the dubai princess in June 2025 during the Paris Fashion week which was attended by the couple. It is noted that the rapper made his runway debut for Paradis’ Ready-to-Wear Spring/Summer 2026 show.

For the unversed, Dubai princess Sheikha Mahra is the daughter of Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The Dubai princess was earlier married to Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum. However, in July 2024, the princess announced her divorce through an Instagram post.


She wrote, in the now-deleted Instagram post, “Dear Husband. As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, I divorce you.”


Dubai princess Sheikha had met Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum, a businessman, in 2023 and they had a daughter-- whose identity isn't revealed to public-- in 2024. Shortly after the arrival of their daughter, the Dubai princess accused her former husband of infedelity and divorced him.


Instead of retreating after her public divorce, Mahra reinvented herself. She launched a perfume line aptly titled “Divorce” under her Mahra M1 brand, a move many saw as her reclaiming the narrative. Educated in the UK and trained at the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Administration College, the princess balances her royal duties with entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and championing women’s empowerment.

As per reported, Dubai princess Sheikha and Moroccan-American rapper French Montana were first linked with each other in October 2024. Over the last few months, the couple have been spotted together at various events like the Pont des Arts in Paris, dining in Dubai and Morocco, the Paris Fashion Week 2025, etc.


For the unversed, rapper French Montana rose to fame with global hits like Unforgettable and No Stylist. Beyond the music and celebrity romances, he’s also known for his philanthropy, supporting healthcare and education projects in Africa. He shares a teenage son, Kruz, with his ex-wife, designer Nadeen Kharbouch. Roughly a decade ago, he is also known to date Khloe Kardashian.


Both Sheikha and Montana's families are reportedly supportive of the match, though the wedding date hasn’t been revealed yet. What we do know: this royal-rapper love story is already giving us all the sparkle of a modern-day fairytale, with just the right touch of tabloid-worthy drama.
