Coldplay kiss-cam scandal escalates: Kristin Cabot files for divorce from 'separated' husband
Coldplay has always been popular. The band's songs strike through the hearts of many, making them hum in pain and love. However, the band's concert in Gillette Stadium this year made global headlines, after the kiss cam exposed an affair between Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his HR chief Kristin Cabot.
As the camera paused on the duo embracing each other, Chris Martin pointed out "Oh look at these two." However, instantly Byron let go of his arm around Cabot and ran to hide his face behind the barriers. Meanwhile Cabot was left standing in the spotlight hiding her face with her hands. To this the 'Yellow' singer commented “Oh what... either they're having an affair or they're very shy.” Well it was the first scenario.
Now, as per new reports, Kristin Cabot has filed for divorce from her husband Andrew Cabot, a move that many have termed as karma for the much-sympathised and scorned spouse.
The 52-year-old filed a divorce petition from her husband less than a month after the kiss-cam scandal where she was seen in the arms of her boss. As per paperwork seen by the Mail, Cabot filed papers at a court in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on August 13, 2025. However, it seems the couple's home already had cracks and Andrew plays it cool when he found out that his third wife had already moved on.
“I texted Andrew right after it happened, and he said: ‘Her life is nothing to do with me,’ and said they were separating,” his ex-wife, Julia Cabot, told The Daily Mail.
“He’s saying it has nothing to do with him, even though they were married and shared a house. But then, the only thing he cares about is money,” she continued.
“I wouldn’t say he’s husband material. But she doesn’t seem like wife material either,” she said of the now-twice-married Kristin Cabot.
This divorce is Cabot's third. The CEO of family company Privateer Rum is a descendant of a "Boston Brahmin" family. He belongs to one of the oldest and wealthiest families in Boston.
According to Julia Cabot, a 63-year-old yoga teacher, her ex-husband had it coming. “That’s why after it happened, I got loads of texts from people with that word: karma. It was like: what you give, you get. Personally, I don’t think he’s affected by what happened at all. I don’t think his feelings are hurt. He’s probably embarrassed, if anything,” said the woman who was married to Cabot for four years before their ugly split in 2018.
The former couple's divorce battle lasted for two years, with Cabot saying in court documents that it was caused by an "irretrievable breakdown" of their relationship, something Julia contested. Ultimately, she walked away with $1 million, a $1.9 million home and a Jaguar.
Now, it remains to be seen how this divorce will play out.
