Confessions of women married to short-tempered husbands

Can you relate to these confessions?

Having a short-tempered husband is a whole new struggle for an Indian daughter-in-law where in most households, sons are treated like Princes. You rarely get support from your in-laws and are in fact cornered even further when their husbands lash out. Here are some confessions of women married to short-tempered husbands.

2/4

I am on the edge all the time

It was an arranged marriage and I was never in the favour of marrying the man I am with, in the first place. My husband is a very short-tempered man who can yell at anything, anytime and this has made me so jumpy that I feel I am always living on the edge. My Blood pressure has become high and I am always tense. I keep second-guessing my moves because the man can go crazy at the silliest of things. His parents fear his anger and his sister is a spineless kitten. I just keep Googling ways to deal with a short-tempered husband now.

3/4

I fear he will have a heart attack

My hubby and I had a love marriage and I always knew about his temper issues. I let go because he is an amazing person otherwise. It’s like a whole new person for those brief few minutes when he loses it. The issue for me is that I worry about his health. I fear he will collapse someday if he doesn’t work on his temper. I have been trying to convince him to take a meditation course and try yoga. He takes it too lightly. I am worried.

4/4

I had to divorce him

His temper was very bad and that short fuse took a toll on my mental health. Stress from work and his yelling sprees were driving me crazy. I gave him 2 years to work on it because no one deserves this kind of nonsense. He did not even try! It had become so bad that I would cry every day because short-tempered people do not even realise what they are saying or doing. He once threw my laptop because I had accidentally put an extra spoonful of sugar in his tea. I was done and now I am happy.
