FDA passes new condom for anal sex

Why is a condom needed for anal sex?

Anal sex. While many are not yet comfortable with doing this, many out there are very much open to the idea of having anal sex. This type of penetration occurs in the anus and is also deemed to be very pleasurable and rough, even though it might pain very much at the beginning. As much as people want to be open about the idea of anal sex, they miss out on the most important part–being sexually protective against STDs which are commonly spread vi anal sex as well. To everyone’s delight, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved first-ever condoms specifically made for anal sex to curb the spread of STDs.

Spread of STDs

Sexually Transmitted diseases (STDs) are diseases that are spread via sexual contact. Anal sex is one of the riskiest ways in which STDs spread and is also responsible for the transmission of the deadly HIV and HPV. And so the use of condoms during anal sex becomes even more important.

Condom for anal sex

Health authorities have been promoting the idea of introducing a condom solely for anal sex. The FDA has reportedly passed the production of ONE Male Condom that is manufactured by Boston, Massachusetts-based Global Protection Corp. This condom has been already in use for vaginal intercourse, but now it can also for advertised for anal sex.

Why do we need a condom for anal sex?

Most people don’t use protection when it comes to anal sex because one cannot get pregnant in this intercourse. However, people miss the point that anal sex is likely to spread STDs faster. Safe sex and health should always be prioritised. And so, it is important to adhere to these condoms that are specifically made for anal sex.
