Gauranga Das

Spiritual leader Gauaranga Das is known for imparting his wisdom on relationships and life, which is resonates with many. This makes him quite popular with people, and an inspiration to many. Considering that most marriages today don't survive the test of time, in a new social media video Gauranga Das shared his tips about a few things a girl should always think before deciding to get married. "Before saying "yes" to marriage, pause and reflect... Marriage isn't just one day, it's everyday. Choose wisely, choose consciously," he said in the post.
Remember, the partner you choose to get married to has a huge impact on how your life would shape in the future. So, here we list Gauranga Das advice for girls who are planning to get married soon:

2/4

"Know your why"

"Don't get married just because it's the next step or because of family pressure. (Instead) Ask yourself, 'Why do I want to get married?' It is a big decision, think wisely," Gauranga Das said, sharing his first advice for women. With this, Gauranga Das teaches us that understanding one’s true reasons to get married ensures emotional readiness and prevents regret later. He reminds that marriage is a lifelong commitment, so it’s important to choose wisely, with clarity and purpose, not haste or pressure.

3/4

"Ask yourself, 'Can you adjust with his family?'"

Gauranga Das advises women to honestly ask themselves, 'Can I adjust with his family?' before marriage. He explains that while it’s not necessary to love every family member, it is essential to feel emotionally safe, respected, and valued in that environment. Mutual respect creates harmony and reduces future conflicts between couples and their respective families. Marriage, he says, is not just about two people but about blending two families — and emotional safety within that space is key to long-term peace and happiness.

4/4

"Discuss the life beyond the wedding"

"The wedding is one day; marriage is every day. Talks about values, finances, and career goals. It is okay to be practical and make a decision," Gauranga Das said, and rightly so. Many people often focus too much on their wedding day, but forget that for a marriage to last, they need to have shared values, ideas, and work together as a team. Only then can they have a truly happy and lasting marriage.
