Catch a liar while chatting

When we meet someone in person, they are easier to read by their body language, face expressions, tone etc. But in texting, it can be difficult and misleading too. Texting Is a source of major miscommunication situations. However, there are people who try to make full use of this form of communication especially when they have to lie about something. Here are 5 signs that may help you spot a liar while you are text messaging.

2/6

The vagueness

If whoever you are talking to is unable to come up with a solid story and you can spot a background that seems a bit off, it means there is a lie lurking in this conversation. Some people tend to share half the truth and leave out the incriminating details.

3/6

Long response time

If you have asked something innocent and it is a topic which otherwise does not need so much thought before being answered, it probably means that the other person is cooking up a lie. Is texting time taken by him/her too long? The typing word that appears on your WhatsApp chat, is recurring and he.she has not yet written anything? These could be signs that there is a lie coming up. However, do consider the typing speed of that individual.

4/6

The details

Pay attention to the details of the response you get. Is the answer way too complex? That could be a red flag for sure. Some people have the habit of weaving grandiose storylines that fit the narrative of the conversation for no solid reason at all. These people are pathological liars. To catch the lie in their craft, aslk them random questions, pick a leaf out of nowhere and see how they twist the words, backtrack to correct some details “ you missed out on ''.

5/6

Dodging questions

When you are chatting with someone and they seem to be dodging the question, it could mean that they are hiding something. Some people answer one part of the question and bring up something else to distract you from asking the other part of that question you asked.

6/6

The recurring “G2G”

Has it happened that you asked something and in the middle of texting, he/she replied with a “G2G” out of nowhere? The “got to go” text can very well mean that someone is avoiding a certain question.
