Never say these things to your partner when you are angry

1/6

Refrain from saying these things

When we are angry at each other we tend to react in ways that are unforgivable. Many of us stoop so low that we are unable to meet our partner’s eye. To avoid a permanent damage which could be so deep that there is no going back, here are 5 things that you must never say or do whenever you are angry, NO MATTER WHAT!

2/6

Accusations of “You never” and “You always”

When we lose it, there are certain tendencies of us humans, very lethal indeed, that can ruin everything and make us regret later. Some of them include the accusatory dialogues which begin with “you never” and “you always”. They are exaggerations most of the time and they are also rarely associated with the issue we are fighting on. If your partner is doing it, you must not do the same thing. You stick to “I” and later he/she too will realise the difference.

3/6

The “so what?” and “who cares” statements

Do not use a language that will make your partner think that you have no interest in them or their opinion. The phrases that scream the you-don't-care attitude, make the other person feel unheard. It is okay if you don’t agree but it is crucial that you listen to them.

4/6

Pushing their buttons intentionally

Many people like to hit under the belt and say the things that you know will irritate them further. In anger, we try everything to hurt the other person but when in a relationship, this can even burn the bridge. We all know our partners well so we can hit their deepest fears, regrets they ever told us. You will lose their trust forever if you stoop to that level. Best is to keep quiet and talk about the issue when both are calm.

5/6

Digging the past

Don’t dig up the past issues in your fight. In the heat of the moment, you may say something, you know very well that you should not have. And we all know that we cannot take our words back.

6/6

Name calling

Never! Never ever must you resort to name-calling, no matter how ugly the fight is. It simply subtracts a lot from your relationship. These words do not heal and they linger for a long time.
