Sadhguru explains why do people fall out of love

Sadhguru's opinion on falling out of love

It may not be the case with you but it is very common when the closest of couples fall out of love and grow distant in their respective relationships. They become numb to each other, get bored, and add in more ingredients of indifference, you will find that the love is gone. In a video, Sadhguru shared why this happens and it will leave you pensive too. Here is what he said.

“It is very important that you are a self-start machine. Otherwise, after some time, you will try to extract happiness from the other person. That is when these love affairs become tedious and horrible. There are two ways to enter into a relationship. One way is because you want to extract something from someone. Another way is because you want to share something with someone,” said Sadhguru.

“If you are out to share, your life will be good. If you are out to extract, when they close the tap, it is going to get terrible and nasty. You have seen people who thought they were absolute lovers, and how terrible it becomes for many of them. Not because there is anything wrong with them. Simply because you started off on the wrong footing, thinking “This person is the source of my joy.” Whether it is joy or misery, the source is within you. It is for you to decide. If you are a joyful human being, they will also want to be with you. If you are miserable, they will endure you for some time,” he added.

2/5

Change in compatibility

Love often begins when two people sharing common interests, values, and goals. However, over time, people can evolve and change in different ways. These paths can lead to decreased compatibility, making it challenging to maintain the same level of emotional connection and passion.

3/5

Communication breakdown

Communication is the base of every healthy and loving relationship. When couples are unable to express their feelings, needs, and concerns, it can lead to misunderstandings, frustration, and emotional distance. When communication deteriorates, so does the emotional bond.

4/5

Unresolved issues

Unresolved conflicts can erode love over time. Continual negativity and hostility in a relationship create emotional strain and make it difficult to maintain a loving connection. Bitterness can build up, erasing the affection that was once present.

5/5

Infidelity and betrayal

Infidelity or other forms of betrayal can break trust and leave deep emotional wounds.
